Giant Lobster

Recently off the coast of west Sussex a very unusual sized lobster has been caught weighing more than four kilograms and measuring about one metre in length. The fisherman, who caught this rare lobster, decided it was too special to eat. It is believed to be one of the largest and oldest lobsters ever caught it Britain! The lucky fisherman who managed to catch the rarely large lobster donated the special discovery to the Blue Reef Aquarium in Portsmouth. Lindsay Holloway who works at the aquarium stated: ‘He’s a fantastic specimen and by his size alone he has got to be at least 50 years old! He is an amazing creature and it’s quite an achievement to have reached such an impressive age!’

Also, a Ferret has been rescued from a train station in Edinburgh after apparently catching a train from London! Mickey the male ferret, who was named by animal welfare officers, was discovered at Haymarket train station on Monday. At around 7 o’clock Mickey appeared on platform 4 when the train from London had arrived. Staff eventually managed to catch the ferret that is now being cared for by the Scottish SPCA and are wanting his owner to come forward as soon as possible.  Jenny Scott, a member of the Scottish SPCA, quoted: "When I arrived to collect the ferret, the staff had managed to catch him and put him in a box”. The ferret is now being cared for at the charity's animal rescue and rehoming centre in Balerno.
